On August 4, 1956 in a living room church at 348 W. Biddle Street the church was organized. It was founded by James E. Murchison. On August 20th was the signing of Our Articles of Incorporation, it was elected that the name shall be Gethsemane Spiritual Temple. On Sunday, September 30, 1956 The Rev. James E. Murchison was ordained and installed as the pastor.

1 Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" Satan was defeated when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Thank you Heavenly Father that we no longer have to fear death because we have hope beyond the grave. Though we will die physically, we will continue to live spiritually. Praise the Lord!
